Gypsy Wood Park is…… packed with things to see and do
There’s never a dull moment at Gypsy Wood Park. Here are just some of the attractions we have…..
All aboard for the Gypsy Wood Express! You can enjoy a magical ride on Woody’s Train through part of the park for almost ¾ km. The train and track has been specially made for us here at Gypsy Wood Park by Cromar White, and it’s a 10¼” gauge tear drop railway with turn table, starting from our custom built engine shed and station all the way to the Fairy Princess. Woody’s Train is powered by a green and pollution free electric motor and it takes up to 24 passengers.
*One ride on Woody’s Train is included with the ticket price for every visitor. Additional rides can be purchased for £1.50. Get 1 free ride when you buy 4 additional rides. Available to purchase from the shop.
The train will run between 11.00am and 4.00pm.
Outdoor Garden Railway
Gypsy Wood’s ‘G’ scale garden railway is a long established favourite with visitors of all ages, having been built at the beginning in 2004 and substantially expanded and modified since then. A variety of model trains running on over half a kilometre of track. They travel over and under bridges, go through tunnels and pass lots of buildings that are all placed in a beautiful garden setting which includes a quarry, mountain railway, large central station and a long bridge over a pond.
Kids aged 9 to 90 will love the interactive play buttons so they can move Thomas the Tank engine and his friends.
Gift Shop and Café
Our lovely gift shop is filled with fairy themed souvenirs and presents to remember your day at Gypsy Wood. (See our Shop Page for more information).
Gypsy Wood’s café has been transformed into the all new Dragon Café. This fantastic café offers snacks, cakes, teas, coffees, ice creams and treats. And if the weather’s not to cosy outside then why not snuggle up with a warm drink by our log burner. And if the sun’s out, then why not make the most of the gorgeous decking area which overlooks Woody’s Train.
Open daily from 10:30am to 4:30pm.
You are welcome to bring a picnic with you, but please don’t feed any of your leftovers to the animals, and please eat within designated picnic areas only.
Please dispose of your litter appropriately.
*Please note that we cannot accept Tesco Clubcard vouchers at the café
The site of the old café has been transformed into a fun undercover play area, so no matter what the weatherman says, there’ll be plenty of fun here!
There’s nothing fishy about this fun game – use the magnetic poles to see if you can catch some colourful fish.
Can you reach the stars? Of course you can with our in-ground trampolines. Come and see how high you can jump!
Play hide-and-seek and explore underground in our fantastic new fun tunnels. Who will be first out of the other side?
On your marks, duck, GO! You’ll have to find your muscles to pump, pump, pump the water before shooting your duck from the starting blocks. Who’ll be the winner!
A fun activity for all the family.
Play Area & Mini Zip Wire
Children of all ages will love our brilliant play area. The big castle-style play centre has slides, a rope bridge, climbing wall and swings. Why don’t you come and have a go on our Mini Zip Wire!

Follow the giant’s footsteps through the willow walk to the lake side picnic area and sit in the giant’s chair, if you dare! Go kart area, complete with climbing spider web, a fun long jump and den building. You’ll also find Daisy our milkable cow.
And don’t forget to bring your wellies for the Wetland walk! Follow the trail for ½ a mile and explore lots of wildlife habitats from marsh lands, meadows and wooded swamps.
Meet the Fairy Queen or Princess
If you would especially like to meet the Fairy Queen or Princess then please call us to check in advance if she’s in! (Certain days only).
Meet the animals
Gypsy Wood Park is home to a variety of different animals. They all love living here and they are always excited to meet new friends. Come and see us to visit the ponies, alpacas, donkeys, pygmy goats, pot-bellied pigs, ferrets, rabbits, mice and more.
At 1:30pm everyday there’s the chance to meet some of the animals, the stars of our blog: Simba and Betty. You can get up close to some of our friendliest residents and touch, hold and even brush them. In peak season there are plenty of animal activities like pony/donkey grooming and you can meet our world’s smallest sheep Ouessant.
If you’d like to feed the animals you can buy bags of feed from the shop – but don’t forget to give the right feed to the right animal!
Pick a sheep in our daily sheep race game and hope that she zooms around the course and wins first place! Loads of fun for all the family; will you be baaaah lucky?
Gypsy Wood Park often welcomes other activity providers such as face painters or donkey rides. These will be subject to an additional charge.
